Danish modern. This line of table legs is inspired by the work of Danish architect and furniture designer, Finn Juhl. This leg is the thicker of the Juhl coffee table legs, though still features a delicate form with smoothly rounded corners, a gentle tapering on two sides, and a simplistic silhouette characteristic of Danish furniture design.
Our Juhl Coffee Table Leg is the perfect complement to any coffee table in any minimalist, mid-century, Scandinavian, or contemporary environment. Similar to our Hepplewhite Coffee Table Leg, the Juhl Coffee Table Leg features gently radiused corners, giving the leg a more free-flowing and natural look as opposed to the crisp, mechanical lines of the Hepplewhite. Crafted from 2¼’’ stock, this leg is scaled for table tops in the ¾ to 1’’ range. Notably attractive and synonymous with Finn Juhl’s work when crafted from walnut, cherry, or the oaks. Unfinished, sanded with 180-grit paper. Choose your finish.
Ultra-minimal Mid-Century Modern. This leg is ideal for any Mid-Century Modern project where a Danish minimalist look is desired. Crafted from 1¾’’ stock, this leg is the thinnest and smallest of the Juhl legs. Smooth rounded corners, a tight, two-sided tapering form, and clean, transitional fluidity are hallmarks of this extra thin coffee table leg, inspired by the renowned Danish designer and furniture-maker, Finn Juhl.
Finn Juhl was the catalyst for the introduction and longevity of Danish Modernism in America. His works include several renowned table and chair designs, as well as the furnishings and layout of the Trusteeship Council Chamber, one of the most popular spaces in the United Nations’ headquarters in New York City. Drawing on classic Hepplewhite form while infusing smooth, radiused corners, our Juhl leg is a testament to the relationship between tradition and vision toward the future.
Juhl preferred to work with teak, along with other dark woods. We recommend this leg style to be crafted from walnut, cherry, or the traditional Danish furniture wood choice, the oaks. It is scaled for tabletops in the ¾’’ range. Unfinished, sanded with 180-grit paper. Choose your finish.
NOTE: Always prepare your components properly: Before using paint, stain or varnish with your project, carefully inspect each component and prepare it to achieve the desired outcome.
