Sleek and modern. Our versatile new Mid-Century Modern design, the Juhl Dining Leg, features a slender shaft tapered on two sides, and radiuses on each corner giving the leg a smooth, light silhouette. Crisp geometry meets organic form in this leg, inspired by the simplicity and graceful proportions of Finn Juhl’s Scandinavian furniture. Juhl is credited with popularizing Danish Modern design in the U.S. He was selected in 1950 to design and furnish the Trusteeship Council Chamber, one of the most frequented spaces within the United Nations’ headquarters in New York City.
Particularly attractive in walnut or cherry, the Juhl Dining Leg blends well with any minimalist, Scandinavian, mid-century modern, or contemporary environment. Our Juhl Dining Leg is lightweight and delicate in look, blending modern Danish and traditional Hepplewhite form resulting in a quietly sophisticated and elegant leg.
Crafted from 2 ¾’’ stock, this leg is scaled for tops in the ¾ to 1’’ range. Compare in form to our Hepplewhite Dining Leg. Unfinished, sanded with 180-grit paper. Choose your finish.
Danish minimalist. Our extra thin Juhl Dining Leg is perfect for small to medium sized dining tables that need strength while also maintaining a light and lofty look. The thinnest leg in our Juhl line, this Extra-Thin Juhl Dining Table Leg features a delicate two-sided tapering silhouette with smooth rounded corners for pleasing visual transition.
Finn Juhl was the godfather of Danish Modernism in America, designing and furnishing the Trusteeship Council Chamber, one of the busiest, most visited chambers in the United Nations’ headquarters in New York City. His ideas have influenced the style of contemporary American furniture design, as well as American architecture. Our Juhl Extra Thin Dining Leg is homage to these relaxed, practical, stylish design ideas of Finn Juhl, and the influence that they have held over American designers.
Perfect for any minimalist, Mid-Century Modern, contemporary, or Scandinavian style environment, our Extra-Thin Juhl Dining Leg looks great in walnut or cherry, or in the traditional wood choice of the Danish, the oaks. Crafted from 1 ¾’’ stock this leg is scaled for tabletops in the ¾’’ range. Unfinished, sanded with 180-grit paper. Choose your finish.
Modern and minimalist. Our Thin Juhl Dining Leg features a slender shaft, tapered on two sides, and smooth, rounded corners, giving the leg a light, airy, minimalist look and feel. With its slender silhouette and sleek, modern shape, our Thin Juhl Dining Leg is the perfect leg to complement any Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian, contemporary, or minimalist environment.
Finn Juhl designed and furnished the Trusteeship Council Chamber in the United Nations’ headquarters in New York City. Our line of table legs named in his honor is tribute to the influence that Finn Juhl and other Danish designers had upon American furniture makers and designers. Inspired by the fresh, welcoming, and minimalist ideas of Danish designer Finn Juhl, this design captures the simplicity of form and the subtleties of modernism in one thin, graceful dining table leg.
Compare to the crisp, mechanical lines and form of our Hepplewhite legs. Crafted from 2 ¼’’ stock, this leg is scaled for table tops in the ¾’’ range. Unfinished, sanded with 180-grit paper. Choose your finish.
Minimalist heft. In our line of Danish modern and minimalist style legs inspired by Danish furniture maker Finn Juhl, this is our largest dining table leg. While still maintaining a light and delicate proportion, this leg offers a bit more heft than the other legs within the Juhl line, pushing the limits of Danish Modernism and minimalism.
The crisp geometry of this leg’s silhouette, combined with the organic form of rounded corners, gives this leg a harmonious look that blends beautifully with any Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian, contemporary, or minimalist environment.
Finn Juhl, designer and furnisher of the Trusteeship Council Chamber in the United Nations’ headquarters in New York City, placed great emphasis on the welcoming feeling that furniture and architecture could inspire. With this inspiration at our shop, the Juhl line of table legs was born. Offering just a bit more heft than the other legs within the Juhl line.
Compare to the crisp, squared look of the Hepplewhite Dining leg. Crafted from 3 ½’’ stock, this leg is scaled for table tops in the 1’’ range. Unfinished, sanded with 180-grit paper. Choose your finish.
NOTE: Always prepare your components properly: Before using paint, stain or varnish with your project, carefully inspect each component and prepare it to achieve the desired outcome.
